Pilgrimage Tours- Gearing up for Charm Dham Yatra

Chardham Yatra is a very significant Hindu pilgrimage that comprises of four important religious sites- Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. It is not only one of the most searched and planned pilgrimage tours but is also the most exhausting one too. Therefore, it is extremely important to be properly geared up for Charm Dham Yatra. Keep the following in mind:

Pack light- Most of the packages offer clothing and comforters as a safeguard from the chill along with all the meals. Thus, one must pack light to experience the least amount of burden during long hours of traveling. Try to keep everything to the bare minimum.

Food- The food that one gets on pilgrimage tours is completely vegetarian and that too only at the time of meals. Make sure that you carry some dry fruits which will not only keep you warm but will also prove to be a great option during long traveling hours. If need be, you can keep other munchies too.  Alcohol is a complete no-no.

Clothing
- As far as clothing is concerned, you should pack your bare woolens. Although you get comforters in the package but if you still feel like, then you can pack one or two heavy woolens.

Foot-gear – The Yatra takes you through tough mountain terrains, therefore, you must pack a pair or two of good hiking shoes. It will help you during strenuous walks.

Essentials – Do not forget to pack medicines, toiletries, a torch with an extra pair of batteries, pocket-change and a first aid kit too. Though, all the documentation is done before the Yatra but you must have online scanned versions of all the necessary papers.

Excessive travel time –  Charm Dham Yatra includes long-hours of travel time for which you must be prepared mentally and physically.

Extra power back-up- One rarely gets internet or mobile signals on high altitudes along with minimum electricity connection too (during travel hours). Therefore, one must not carry extra power back-up for his cell phone or laptop.
